Unfair Labor Practice Charges Filed

September 30, 2009 - Amended Charges Against Journal Broadcast Group
Unilaterally assigning mandatory overtime, implementing its proposal to eliminate the EIC positions, not assigning a crew cheif when an EIC is not on duty, changing the vacation selection and approval process, failing to give 2-week written notice to five part-time employees before their layoff, and much much more detailed in the below PDF document.

September 29, 2009 - Charges Against Journal Broadcast Group
Durinfg the past six months, and continuing to date, Journal Broadcast Group has refused to bargain collectively with I.B.E.W. Local 715. The Employer failed and refused to bargain in good faith by engaging in regressive bargaining, declaring an impasse when so such impasse had occurred & announcing the immediate implementation of its final offer, including but not limited to unilateral wage reductions and jurisdictions.

May 29, 2009 - Continued Unfair Labor Practice Charges

Since on or about September 1st, and continuing to date, the employer failed and refused to bargain collectively; Assigned production specialists to perform work within the unions exclusive jurisdiction; Training and utilizing photojournalists to perform work within the unions exclusive jurisdiction; Extending mandatory overtime for second shift employees; Eliminated EIC positions and their premium wage.

August 6, 2008 - Unfair Labor Practice Charges
The Employer partially implemented its bargaining proposals, including the permissive proposals regarding the scope of the bargaining unit, by announcing a mandatory "production meeting"; Assigning IBEW-represented Engineers to perform IATSE- represented production specialist work; Requiring IBEW-represented Engineers to train IATSE-represented production specialists to perform Engineering jobs and more included in the attached pdf file.

June 30, 2008 - Amended Unfair Labor Practice Charge
The Employer failed and refused to bargain in good faith by declaring an impasse when so such impasse existed.
